Pretty, but see-through
|
Date: January 7, 2010

I am a huge fan of Garnet Hill clothes and am usually pleased with the craftsmanship, but this dissappointed. Last year, I got my husband the men's flannel robe for Christmas and he lives in it. I liked his so much that he surprised me with a woman's one this Christmas. He got me the pretty white one with polka dots. Super comfy and soft, but there is one major problem. It is see-through. Was thinking about trading for the animal print because it might disguise what lies beneath the robe. Thought the apple print would be cute, but saw that another reviewer had the same problem with the apple one. Really dissappointed it didn't work out. Might try the animal one.

I just saw the review about this robe being "so thin it was see-through . . ." and I have to agree - mine was too, after wearing and washing it constantly for 15 years! (note: I am not doubting what the other review was stating; I'm sorry that he/she had an unpleasant experience). I finally replaced mine a month ago with the penguin print (the old one, which I will NEVER give up, is blue and white star print, and is totally thread-bare!). I had forgotten how wonderfully warm and cozy these robes are when they arrive. And they only get softer and more comfortable with age. The more you wash and wear them, the better they feel. Even if you are hesitating to buy this robe, go with the impulse and get it!

won't buy Garnet Hill flannel again
|
Date: December 12, 2009

I have bought lots of GH flannel because of the quality. Finally got the apple print robe after ordering it over a month ago and was very disappointed. Fabric quality was poor - thin, see through, not like other GH flannel and the print was not as sharp as the picture shows. It looks like apples as seen through fuzzy glasses. I plan to return it and won't buy GH flannel again. :-(

I adore this robe

I love the length -- what's the point of a flannel robe if it doesn't cover you up? The green apples are very cheery, and so far it has washed and worn well.

Runs a little large I thought!
|
Date: October 21, 2009

Love the soft pretty robe but did find in my opinion it runs a bit large. I am 5'3" and my size XS robe sweeps the ground and the sleeves have to be cuffed back to keep from dangling down over my fingertips. Very nice in every other way but wish it did come in XXS as well for us shorter folks who like to do things in our bathrobes without a lot of excess fabric flapping around.

a gift to yourself
|
Date: July 26, 2009

I have owned various patterns of this robe for at least 10 years and have given about 8 as gifts. This is the perfect styled bathrobe. It runs full but if you're a medium you'll still probably wear a medium. For me the small fits but is skimpy so I stayed with a medium and I am a 10 or 12. The flannel is a great quality and not too heavy. I wear it Oct- May! I found after a year or so and many washings the flannel sometimes pills but it seems to depend on which design. I always buy this robe on sale and keep 1 or 2 extras in my closet for gifts with 1 or 2 of the gift boxes and you're set to go if you need a present at the last minute. The men's robe in this style is great too! I think the strawberry one is my favorite design.

Fabric Quality Disappointing
|
Date: January 30, 2009

This robe (in the penquin pattern) is cute and warm, but like some other reviewers, I am disappointed by the quality of the fabric. It pills alot and loses softness from the first time it is washed. I would not purchase another one or recommend it.

Delighted with my purchase
|
Date: January 28, 2009

I purchased one of your light flannel robes to accomodte those "in-between" mornings and evenings. While I have heavy robes for below 0 winter wear, and short robes for summer wear, I continuously found that with the majority of my relaxation time I was either too hot or too cold. The light and airy flannel robe is perfect for most evening and morning wear. Also a delight were the cheery and fun prints from which to choose. I purchased the strawberry print and feel "tasty" every morning after my shower. Great little purchase!

soft and warm

Cotton flannel that is soft and warm makes a robe with only 2 small faults- the arms are just slightly small for rolling up easily and the robe loops are also just a touch too small. Otherwise, a great winter robe! I am quite happy with the cute pattern too- cheerful! All in all, I love the robe!

Fabulous Flannel

I have been purchasing GH flannel robes for several years, for myself and as gifts. The quality is non-pareil - soft, warm, looks even better after repeated washings. Nothing comes between me and my flannel!

Wonderful comfortable robe
|
Date: January 22, 2009

This is a wonderfully comfortable robe, warm and generously cut so that it drapes gracefully when the sash is tied. The flannel is some of the nicest I've seen. I had a previous flannel robe from Garnet Hill that I loved, but I like this one even better. Just about perfect.

this robe was exceptionally soft and plushy when I received it. retained its softness and vibrant colors after washing, which is a big plus. some flannels get pebbly and scratchy after washing, not this one.

Not satisfied
|
Date: January 21, 2009

There is an odd design flaw in this robe - you have to be really tall to use the pockets. I know, most people probably don't use the pockets. But if you are going to put pockets on a robe, locate them where most people can reach them. I'm fairly tall (5' 6") and yet the pockets on this robe are located near my mid-thigh.
I am also disappointed with the quality of the material. I have had the robe for a month and it is piling already. Not what I expected from Garnett Hill. (I purchased this same robe but in a print that is no longer available.)
