I've purchased these sheets for many years and have recommended these to friends many times over. Sadly, I can no longer do so. I recently purchased a set and had to return them. They are thinner, and "scratchy" as if less than a 200 Count and no longer have that lovely old-fashioned smoothness. I noticed they are no longer made in Portugal, but instead in China. What has changed? The type of cotton, the manufacturing process? By the way, I purchased the Supima sheets, instead. They are smoother, but thinner - not the substantial, old-fashioned sheets I am looking for. Please bring back the original, beloved product.

I sent these back. We have had a number of sets of the scallops during our 30 years of marriage, and we have them professionally laundered. This last set is just a lesser quality product that what we used to get from Garnet Hill - still better than most percale sheets, but not the same weight and crispness, and they seemed hot to sleep under, almost like they had a resin finish. If you have not tried these before, you will probably like them, but I miss the old quality.

Please note, our Scalloped Percale Bedding has a pure finish which means it goes through an additional cleansing wash to remove any chemicals used in the finishing process. It is a 200TC, 100% Long Staple Combed Cotton Percale and does not have a resin coating. We are very sorry you are disappointed with these sheets. We suggest you also try our 300TC Supima Percale Bedding which has a very crisp and weighty hand.

These sheets only look nice if ironed.. The scalloped borders on the sheets and cases and the flange on the shams come out of the dryer with vertical accordion-like pleats. Try the lily Pulitzer sheets instead

My mother and grandmother used these sheets; I've used them, therefore, for my entire life (And now I am a grandmother).
*Something* dreadful has happened to these once wonderful bed linens. They just don't hold up---they deteriorate badly and fairly quickly.
I agree with earlier posters that they aren't as soft either but I can live with that...I just wish they would hold up.

Remembering those wonderful percale sheets from my childhood summers in Maine, I looked for years for sheets that were crisp and cool on a summer night. These sheets are perfect- they are crisp but not wrinkled. They hold their crispness through many washings. People thnik that high thread count is the key - but they have never tried good quality percale.

Just gorgeous but they are noisy and crisp. I call them my paper sheets because that's what they sound like! Other than that, I can't complain, but as a light sleeper it's a little distracting.

I love scallop sheets (especially Garnet Hill) but in the last couple of years they are not what they have been. They are much thinner and lighter weight. Did you change manufacturers?? I kept the sheets and use them, but they are not the same. I would love if you would check up on this and return to the way they used to be. Thanks.

Love the old Wamsutta sheets, and have found the GH ones a decent substitute. But just ordered some more and am so disappointed by the quality. The fabric is much thinner and flimsier than it used to be, making them more difficult to iron, and making them feel less like all-cotton.. Bring back the old quality!! Please!

As with the other customers who have reviewed this product, I agree that the quality was not as in years past. I began to notice a big difference this year, but subtle quality differences have been noticed for three or four years. I cannot say that they even feel like 100% cotton.
The product feels more like a blend of maybe 50% polyester and cotton.
I returned all of my order this year. Sorry, and I hope that you are listening to us.
