I have used these sheets for 30 years...back to when they were Wamsutta. What happened? They used to have great body, crispness. Now they are limp and thin and I returned...never to buy again. I am sad for I think they were the best sheets to be had anywhere.

--These sheets used to be crisp and soft. Something has changed and we are very disappointed. After spending Christmas with a relative who still has the older version, the difference is even more glaring. We will no longer buy these sheets.

They've lost their crispness

I have bought these sheets for years and have always loved them. However, the last set I bought is apparently a new item—I understand that the thread count has gone from 220 to 200—and the sheets have lost their appeal. They don’t have the same feel as the old version. They are not crisp and cool as they once were. They don’t even have the same snappy sound when I’m putting them on the bed. I probably will shop around before I buy these again.

The Signature Scalloped Percale sheets used to be a very firm sheet. Since they reduced the thread count from 220 to 200 I feel that they have reduced the quality. I will no longer buy these sheets.

I am picky about sheets: ONLY all cotton, ONLY percale, ONLY high thread count, ONLY smooth hand (feel) fabric. I thought I'd love these sheets - they remind me of the super-soft sheets my mother had.
They look fine. They feel ok - the weave is palpable, however.
But (and it's a big but) they don't fit my bed. I have a queen bed, so I bought queen sheets. But these sheets are sized to fit a mattress a good 4+ inches deeper than mine - which is a tempurpedic and not particularly skimpy.
I couldn't use the sheets, because there was no way to get the bottom sheet to stay taut and smooth - it ended up bunched up and very uncomfortable - like sleeping on giant wrinkles. I had to do some creative adjustments to make it fit - which, at the price, added insult to injury. I won't buy them again. Same for the hem-stitched sheets.

I'm not crazy about these sheets. They feel good, but they sound like they have some plastic in them. And the fitted sheet is HUGE, so that is negates the benefits of having a fitted sheet, and I ordered the smaller one (my mattress is about 13" thick). I have a fitted sheet that has lost all its elastic that fits tighter than this one. I use them, but probably won't for very long.

I bought these sheets years ago because I loved the clean classic style. I just bought some for my daughter's room not just because I like the style, but because I know they will hold-up for years. The colors are great too. The bottom sheet is made to fit a deep matterss and is a little oversized for our twin beds.

At the very least - treat yourself to these pillowcases when you need spares! My mother had a pair in our linen closet 40 yrs ago and it was a special treat if she ran out of pillowcases and we got to use one. Was thrilled to see GH sold them - I bought a set of these sheets after we got married. Husband is now spoiled for life too! Am going to order spare pillow cases for the kids rooms soon. They even seem to get better over time. ENJOY!

I expect quality from GH, but these sheet sets are beyond the norm. I bought them for my guest room and they still look and feel wonderful after many visits from my young grandchildren and grownup guests.

These are by far the best sheets I've ever had. I've tried higher thread count sheets and more expensive sheets but nothing beats this one! They are on all my beds and on all my grown children's beds. I'm spoiled.

These sheets are truly beautiful. I looked everywhere before ordering these sheets and had a hard time finding a set with such lovely color choices and soft percale like we used to have when I was growing up. I like that they look wonderful even if they aren't ironed. I especially love the refined look and highly recommend them to anyone.

These sheets wore well--no problems with the hems, embriodered scallop, or elastic coming out. I used them for about two years with frequent washing. They are great if you like a silky drape to your sheets. I was looking for something crisper, and found the Signature Hemstitched Percale more to my liking.
