Poor Topiary Listing
Date:November 24, 2013
My topiary tree arrived in good shape and looks beautiful. I started to take it into the greenhouse. That was when I discovered that it was "Preserved". As there was NO MENTION OF PRESERVED GREENERY in the listing, I admittedly had not read the instructions: I know how to take care of a plant. There was a tiny tag: I read it. It told me to keep the "plant" out of direct sunlight and mist it once a month. It did NOT tell me what to expect of "preservation": does this mean it might still look nice for Christmas? Beyond that, what? Can I expect to use it again next year, assuming I remember to mist it every month and it does not develop mold under a dust cover? It was, after all, pretty expensive, and I would not have bought it for one-time use.
This Topiary Collection needs to be clearly labeled "Preserved". In addition, what can be expected of preservation must be spelled out, not tucked away in a secondary section that requires a second click. I alternate between enjoying looking at the "tree", wondering where on earth I am going to put it other than the sunny location for which it was intended, and being annoyed at having paid for it.
