Inspired by the indie spirit of its New Mexican namesake, this dramatic poncho is double-layered for double the warmth and style. The high collar drapes at the front and features four buttons to wear centered or off to the side. Shorter in front, longer in the back, with 3 1/2" fringe for a little swing. Wool with a bit of cashmere. Imported.
I do not know what happened to the wheat cape the woman bought but I have the pumpkin and it is soft, does not shed at all, and is comfortable to wear. Not heavy so it does not weigh you down and is perfect for autumn. I love it.
Review 2 for Taos Sweater-Knit Cape

Just opened the cape (wheat heather) and with only one try on, it was shedding everywhere on clothing, floors!! Horrible mess. GH description says wool with a bit of cashmere - tag says 100% cashmere. Fabric quality and performance is unacceptable, particularly for the price point.... and on such a wonderful garment design.

fresh for autumn
Date:August 24, 2013
Received my cape last week -- the color (pumpkin) is beautiful! It is quite light weight, so good for autumn. I got a small, and it was certainly roomy enough on my 5'3" 140 pound frame. I would have given it 5 stars, but it just needed a little something.... I ended up replacing the buttons with distressed bone buttons, and now I love it!
