Convertible Anorak Trench Coat

Meet our caped crusader: a hooded anorak that cleverly transforms into a cape — just undo two tabs at the waist. In anorak mode, the coat has a draped front, utilitarian-chic flaps and a drawstring waist. A presto-chango piece you'll keep in your closet rotation for many seasons. Three-quarter length. Long sleeves. Water-resistant cotton/nylon. Unlined. Imported.

Great Form - Poor Function
Date:September 30, 2013
Call me fussy, but I expect a trench coat to resist water better than say, a cotton shirt. This caped anorak has great style and seems well-constructed with regard to sewing and notions, but don’t expect it to keep you dry if it rains. Although I did not think it would be waterproof like a Gore tex jacket, I did expect enough water resistance to be able to sprint from my car into the grocery store without the fabric soaking through to my clothes. Just a few rain drops instantly turned large splotches of the khaki color dark; even my husband noticed the anorak’s total lack of ability to keep me dry. I laundered the coat with a water-proofing product made for cotton fabrics and am now satisfied with the level of protection from the elements, but am disappointed that it arrived devoid of any water-resistant quality whatsoever.

I like it...
Date:September 22, 2013
So I like this jacket in that it is different and keeps me dry in the rain...my only challenge with it are that it wrinkles REALLY bad when I pack it and there is a lot of fabric so I sort of feel lost in the jacket..that said - I have gotten compliments when wearing it and I like that it is different than most standard rain jackets so I have decided to keep it. I purchased on sale - would likely not pay full price.

Great all around coat!
Date:September 16, 2013
Overview: I am 5'5" 135lbs. Purchased Coat size: 6
I got this in a size 6 because I figured I could wear a sweater underneath and not feel constricted, since I am a swimmer and have a larger upper body. The sleeves and shoulders are actually roomier than I though so I could have gotten a 4 easily possibly even a 2. (*I am just going to place snaps on the back and dart it when needed, since you only need it fitted in trenchcoat mode) Overall great coat and very warm; I can not wait for it to cool down so I can wear it daily!

Just adorable!
Date:August 4, 2013
This trench coat is too cute and really well-made! It has been too warm here in CA to wear so haven't yet tried to make it a cape which I am sure people will love!
