Marisol Voile Dress

Although the dress is very pretty and well made, the style did not suit my rather matronly figure. I ordered a size larger than usual, but even then the dress was tight fitting and revealed more than I want to show.

I wanted to love this dress (ordered size 12 in the Orange) but was surprised by the fit. It was very short waisted and very full through the hips. Not a very flattering look for me. It is going back.

Pretty dress and nice color but it is way too short! I am not a tall woman and it was still short on me. I also did not like how it was boxy overall the model must have it pinned in the back because the fit was certainly not as nice. I really was excited about this dress but unfortunately it had to go back.

I got this dress on Cyber Monday when all the the sale items were an additional half off. Since I'm busty, I ordered a size up and it's perfect. The splice neckline is a little revealing, but I will wear a lacy cami under. I wish I ordered two at that great price, otherwise, I'm not sure it's worth the price.

Colors are beautiful and exactly as shown. I bought this in both orange and blue floral. The fabric of this dress is very thin but is comfortable and washes up nicely - if taken out of the dryer right away you do not need to iron it. The fit is somewhat tight across the chest. I am busty, usually wear a 6 or 8 dress, and am able to wear both the 8 regular and the 10 petite in this style. I put a few stitches at the overlap on the bust to keep it from gapping.

Perfect Dress

This is the first item I've ever purchased from Garnet Hill and I LOVE it! I have received so many compliments and am happy to let people know where I bought it from. The bodice fit perfectly- so flattering- I did put it on and tack the neckline so it wouldn't gape when I moved around- but because I was able to fit it to myself, it falls perfectly and fits like a dream. Also- can I just say THANK You for offering so many great dress styles with SLEEVES! The skirt is a great a-line- even for me and my more 'hippy' figure- it's fantastic- couldn't be more happy. I'm 5'8" and 165- I bought a 12 and it's great.

So wanted to love this dress...

This dress is beautiful--love the vintage look in the blue. But I'm 6' tall and it just fit too short everywhere on me. It was not comfortable (I felt like I had to keep readjusting it), so I sent it back. Material is very thin also, so I could only see wearing this in warmer weather.

Lovely but not quite right

Lovely vintage look made of nice material, but uncomfortable. I initially ordered a 10 P (based on the chart & my usual size), but I couldn't get the zipper up past my ribs. Then I got a 12 P, and though it fits (with a bit of room under my bust) and looks good, the whole dress moves up when I lift my arms and does not come down in the same place, which leaves me tugging & fussing to get the bodice to lay right. I bought this to wear (like most of my clothes) on normal, active days, so it just won't work. Bummer, because it really is a pretty dress!

Love this dress

I purchased this dress in Burnt Orange and absolutely love it. After reading the reviews on the sizing I purchased a size 4 which I normally wear and also a 6 petite. The sizing on the top was definitely snug on the 4 but fit perfectly on the 6petite. I am very happy! This dress can be casual or dressed up. I can't wait to wear it!

Excellent Fall Dress

Just received the Marisol Voile Dress in Burnt Orange. After reading previous reviews, I was concerned that the size 6 would be too tight around the bust (I am a 34B), but it fits perfectly! I love the vintage floral pattern, the surplice bodice is super flattering, the neckline appropriate for office wear. I am tall and long waisted, the empire waist hits me just around the rib cage, and the skirt has just the right amount of fullness. It is a little short for me, but with opaque tights and boots, I feel fully covered. This is a great fall dress, when it gets cooler I will wear it with a long sleeved tee underneath, and a long cashmere sweater. A little pricey for me, but well worth it for a fully lined and well crafted garment. Very very pleased with the quality and style of this item.

I am an average to small sized woman: 5'5" 125 - 130 pounds. Bra size: 34B. Based on the other reviews, I decided to order size 6 in this dress instead of my usual size 4. Big mistake!! I was disappointed to find the dresses were too big through the bust, waist and skirt. I ordered two: the mocha dot and the burnt orange floral. I love everything else about the dresses. I plan to exchange them, hoping my usual size 4 will fit perfectly and that I will get them in time to wear before the weather gets too cold. In my experience this dress does not run small in any way.

I am a big girl (size 18) & I really like this dress. I am a pear shape, so to fit my hips, the neckline is a bit large and flops open if I lean forward or bend over. This is easily fixed with a small safety pin or a few stitches. I wish this dress was a little bit longer, but overall, it's really great. I got the dark blue one and I'm going to order the orange one as well.

The bodice on this dress is ill-fitting to say the least. It fully hangs open and does not lay nicely at all. It also runs very small in the back/bust area - I usually wear a 12 or a 14 depending on the brand. The 14 in this dress was like a 10.

Previous reviews had me worried this dress would be tight, but I found it true to size. No need to order a larger size unless you are very curvy. I like the length and the fabric feels very nice. Great work dress, can't wait to wear it.

This dress is very pretty, but the 10P was so small that I couldn't even try it on. I assumed it was mislabeled until I read other reviews. The navy is a gorgeous print and I suspect it's quite flattering if it fits. Buyer beware, this dress runs at least a size and probably two sizes small.
