Second year and still love it!

I looked at this in the catalog for a few years, never certain I wanted to spend that much money. I finally got one and this will be my second year filling it for my daughter. We LOVE it. We're a nonreligious family and use it as a count down to the winter solstice. And this "calendar" is fabulous for counting down to a day that moves around every year. The extra hats and mittens are easily removable and then re-attached. It is well-made, definitely a keepsake, will be used for years and years and is ABSOLUTELY worth the money. (A warning though, it increases the amount of stocking stuffer sort of shopping you will have to do.)

I bought this advent calendar several years ago and it has become a tradition. My eight year old son still gets excited when he sees me hanging this along our staircase banister every December 1st. Friends and family always comment on how cute it is and several have bought one of their own. If you don't have kids you could fill it with little notes to your hubby!!

I have been eyeing this advent calendar for the last two Christmas seasons, by the time I decided to order it last year it was out of stock. I ordered it this year as soon as it became available! It is so lovely, soft handmade wool mittens and hats just the right size to stuff with little sweets and small gifts. I was concerned about the color mentioned by other reviewers, but the colors are the same as shown in the catalog, very "natural dye" looking. I would equate it to a carpet made of natural fibers using natural dyes as opposed to synthetic fibers and dyes. I am thrilled with it! I can hardly wait to surprise my little ones on December 1st. They will be delighted as they count down the days! Don't miss out like I did last year, order it already! You'll be so glad you did.

I ordered this and absolutely loved it when it arrived. It is even more adorable in person and is very well made. We hung it up in the hallway and my two year old loved to get up each morning to find a little treat in one of the mittens or hats.

I had my eye on this advent calendar for two years before I bought it, and I'm so glad I finally did. Granted the colors aren't nearly as bright as the were in the catalog, but I still love it.

I just love this advent calendar! Adressing the color concerns mentioned in the other reviews, my advent is exactly the same as the one photographed here. The colors are teal (not royal blue), mustard, brick red, cream, dusty pink and green. The colors are very "earthy" and not your typical primary colors. I love them and they fit in well with my decor. It is a great size & stretches the entire length of my mantel. The mittens and "hats" are a great size to tuck things (not too small that you can only do candy!). To give you an idea of size, the mittens would actually fit a toddler! Beautiful, it is hand-made and it looks it. It does not appear mass produced. It truly is a family heirloom that I am glad I purchased.

I thought this calender looked too cute to pass up. I saw it last year and wanted it really bad. This year I ordered it. When it came the colors are not even close to the picture and the mittens are really large. It was still cute, but I wanted Christmas red not burnt red. So, I returned it.

This item is adorable - I do agree that the colors are more muted then they appear online but this is a keeper and will be a very welcome addition to our family holiday tradition. I liked it so much I bought another one for my sister.

I tried ordering this item last year, but they ran out. The hats and mittens are bigger than I expected. The colors are not as pictured in the catalog and online. However, they are still beautiful, just more muted. This advent calendar is a treasure.

Last year my sons found this hanging in between two windows overnight, filled with tiny presents and messages and they were so excited that they designed the family Christmas card around the hats and mittens, holding the two ends and dancing with it in the garden. They already started to mention it wondering what will it contain this year.
