beautiful but very delicate
Date: March 11, 2010
Love this but will be careful before purchasing another like it. Very fragile ... (or could have gotten defective one) but it had a hole in it, a small tear. Lovely however, and form follows function... !

So warm but so delicate
Date: March 10, 2010
This throw is so light, so soft and so warm. It is my daughter's favorite blanket and she's super picky about everything. However, we'd only had it a few weeks when i noticed that the silk was ripping where the stitching holds the inside filling to the outside. I don't have the heart to take this blanket away from my daughter to return it but I can see that you must treat this excellent throw with care. It also pulls when caught on things. As my daughter is only 7, it is fairly roughly used and may be fine for adult use.
I am considering getting a larger blanket for my daughter's bed as well as for my parents who are always cold and will probably treat the blanket with more care.

My Expensive Mistake
Date: February 7, 2010
Let me start by saying this is the most beautiful thing in my home, and I've wanted it for years. Last month it was on a brief sale, and I jumped on the rare chance to pick one up at a slight discount. It's been a cold winter in California and I was very happy to bring home a blanket with the light weight we're used to, but that is very warm. However - 1 -It's too warm. Wow; amazingly warm, and although we usually layer a cotton blanket under a very slim down blanket in winter, this has such warmth that we've had a hard time finding the best balance of insulation. If you've ever sweated thru a fine silk blouse this blanket is not for you. 2. It's rather delicate. The way it's made -the filling is just lightly tacked into place with some fine thru quilt stitching. If you're the type of couple who chases each other around the house & jump on the bed for a bit of a laugh and a tickle this blanket is not for you. 3. Now this is the hardest to explain, but I swear it has some kind of electric field. I don't usually have trouble falling alseep, but under this silk blanket my mind is NOT restful. After a month of trying to get used to it I took it off and replaced it with an ordinary cotton blanket. Whew; that very night we slept better than we had in weeks under the silk. So - I'm just sharing my experience in case any of you out there are like me....

Review 4 for Eileen Fisher Ethereal Silk Comforter and Throw
I purchased the throw when it first appeared a couple of years ago and it has been true love ever since. Light as a dream and yet always comforting and warming...almost like magic. Everyone in our family teases me about my "blankie" but they all seem to want to get a hold of it at the same time. Not a chance. Would buy the King size as well if it was not so pricey.

Ultimate Blanket
Date: January 7, 2010
If you had to own one blanket to go from the travel bag to the couch, then up to an elegant bed, this would be the only option. Feather light and warm as fur, it's airy enough to get you through sub-zero winters and summer heat and humidity. Feel good about knowing you are buying something that will function in all realms of your life.

Review 6 for Eileen Fisher Ethereal Silk Comforter and Throw
I have had my throw for over a year & cannot imagine being without it. I bought it for long plane rides because it scrunches down to nothing & pops right back to keep my weightlessly warm. Now I use it every night on my couch. I wash it regularly - handwash cycle with Ivory Snow - & dry it on superlow. It looks almost as good as the day I bought it.

Review 7 for Eileen Fisher Ethereal Silk Comforter and Throw
I just bought the comforter in soft white and it is so unbelieveably soft, luxurious and very lightweight, I love it! It looks beautiful on my bed. Even my husband loves it. It is surprisingly warm and just heaven to sleep under. I am going to buy the coordinating shams etc, it's worth spoiling yourself with this.

This is like being covered with a cloud on your couch. It looks and feels beautiful and is just as warm as much heavier blankets. I'm ordering two more for Christmas gifts while they are still on sale!

"Ethereal"-wonderful description!
Date: August 28, 2009
I'm elated this is back, and in bigger sizes! The name "Personal Silk Throw" doesn't come close in describing this scrumptious, barely-there throw. I also have GH's "All-Silk Comforter", which I use for the cooler seasons. This throw has been one of my best purchases, though I almost didn't try it. I cannot say enough about this, especially with more sizes to choose now! I also use this as a wrap, a 'binkie', and my (older, very dear) cat loves to hog it whenever possible.

Luxurious, Warm & Lightweight
Date: January 20, 2009
I love this throw; it's warm without being heavy, luxurious without being expensive, and just perfect for the sofa on a cold winter's night. I've washed it once on the delicate cycle and dried gently without any problems. It's the perfect adult blankie!

Best Throw Ever
Date: January 19, 2009
This silk throw is elegant and beautiful. It is as light as air and feels wonderful against your skin. In the summer and fall, I use it instead of a blanket. When the cold weather arrives, I use it as a throw.

"Ethereal" is the right word to describe this throw. It's SOOO light and yet really toasty. I feel special just being wrapped up in it.

I got this primarily for the plane...it's snuggly and lightweight and warm. My only worry is that the silk might snag, but so far so good. I use it at night here in the tropics from time to time.

Disappointed
Date: December 13, 2008
Since the product was from Eileen Fisher and sold by Garnet Hill, I was expecting high quality. Silk-filled throws are hard to find, especially at a decent price. I am in love with my silk-filled Queen-size comforter from Dreamsacks, and was expecting similar. Unfortunately, this one was very skimpy on the silk batting inside, and the workmanship was poor - many loose threads, didn't seem to be made with care. Plumeria Bay has a nice, weighty silk throw but expensive. Oh, well.

Review 15 for Eileen Fisher Ethereal Silk Comforter and Throw
Simply the best. Super luxurious throw that everyone should experience....When my grand daughter asked if she could inherit mine, I thought I'd get her one for her 14th birthday. Then her dad had an ahhh moment with it, so now I have to get one for him for Christmas! At least I know what they love! What a perfect gift....you won't be sorry, winter or summer....

A "Blankie" for grown-ups
Date: October 20, 2008
The softest thing I ever felt. It's not a word- but the best way to describe it is "float-y." The silk is so light and airy. Suprisingly, for as light as it is, when there's a chill it does keep you warm. But due to the temperature regulating properties of silk, you can still snuggle up in it when its hot outside.
