Silk Tiered Skirt

Pretty tiers convey relaxed elegance in crinkled silk dupioni. Offered in autumn's most desirable shades, the easy pull-on style is accented with cotton lace between the tiers.

I agree with other reviewers to size up. I am a 6 or 8 & the 10 fits the best. Nice addition to the wardrobe, especially at the sale price.

Good skirt. Date: September 11, 2009
I got the brown skirt. I ordered up 2 sizes. The skirt puckers at each tier. However, if you twist the skirt with side seams sitting in the front/back, the puckering effect is minimized. For the sale price it is a good buy.

This is a wonderful skirt, very flattering, easy care, great for traveling, flexible. It gives a feeling of femininity yet there's not too much fabric fussing around. However, the construction varies from piece to piece. I first got one last year ('08) and re-ordered this year; have had problems with puckering just below the waist and an unflattering fabric bulge at the hips. I keep ordering and sending back and re-ordering in hopes of getting more that are properly made, because then it's a real useful wardrobe winner. I'd love to see it back next year, but with more consistent quality to the construction. Altho I am a petite I found I preferred the regular length - the petite hit at the thick of the calf and the slightly longer regular length was more flattering. If it were properly constructed I would give it a 5 star.

Bought the brown, quality is fine, color is beautiful, already received ample compliments...not an easy feat for a 5"1 girl in a long tiered skirt!

Just received mine in green. It is so pretty! I am glad I followed other customers' advice and sized up. I normally wear sizes 6 and 8 on the bottom, but ordered a size 10 this time, and it fits me much better than the size 8 I ordered last year in the fall print. That one puckered around my "roundish" belly, the size 10 does not. It falls nicely around my hips without appearing too large.
Another great GH acquisition for my wardrobe!!! A great plus: I got it on sale!!!

Very disappointed! Date: August 20, 2009
I read the reviews of this skirt and couldn't wait to get it. The color is beautiful, BUT the fit was awful. I am of average build, not skinny nor fat, and the skirt did not hang well at all. I agree with another reviewer that it "bubbled" at each layer. I will return the skirt and look for a new one (which should be easy at Garnet Hill).

A Classic! Date: July 30, 2009
I bought the portobella and just love it. This is perfect for travel. There was a comment about needing a liner but I disagree. I live in the hot south and can live without liners or pantyhose! This is a very casual boheminan look. I will buy another color at this sale price.

simple, yet elegant Date: July 23, 2009
I bought two of these, in portobella and rose, both of which can be easily worn dressy or casual, depending on the top one pairs it with. Pleats are small, allowing for a very flattering shape even if one is a bit hippy. I like the look with a strappy top and sandals. However, the darker color moves easily into Fall with a sweater and boots. I highly recommend this skirt.

a bit disapointed Date: July 23, 2009
i'd been eyeing this skirt for over a year for it's breezy, chic and cool qualities. when it arrived i was quite bummed by the quality of material and cut. while i admit to not having the body of g.h.'s models, it's still not bad. the skirt kinda clung to my not so nice bits and puckered funny around the top tiers. i really wanted it to be fabulous, but this item fell a bit short. unusual for my past experiences with garnet hill.

I have folded and packed it in a tight suitcase. When removed, it looked great, and I felt festive wearing this item. The skirt is comfortable and is an easy care product. What more could you want in a skirt?

awesome silk skirt Date: July 22, 2009
Purchased the silk skirt in the portobella color with the matching tank top. It fits true to size and is extremely comfortable. As always, Garnet Hill has high quality items. My daughter, who is 15, even thought it was "cool".

purchased this in petite size in portabella. I did order one size up and am glad I did.... it fits well, will go from casual to dressy--depending on what's worn with it, and will be good for 3-season wear. EXCELLENT!!

Sadly my (ample) hips were not flattered in this skirt, despite picking black and a larger than normal size. It was well made, and I just wish it had worked out, I'm sure I would have worn this endlessly.

Not good on for the vertically challenged Date: July 16, 2009
This is a nice skirt and would travel well, but the horizontal tiers narrow the skirt and make it less full than the other dupioni skirts offered by GH and not as "flippy" as the skirt looks in the photo. I'm short, too, which made it even more of a bad pick for me. I think someone taller who didn't mind a narrower skirt would get lots of use from it, however.

Quite a disappointment Date: July 12, 2009
I am having a difficult time believing that the skirts I received - pink, blue, and portabello - are the same ones that have been reviewed so favorably here. At this price point, I definitely expect the elastic of the waistband to be covered and the skirt to be lined. Really, who wants half inch stiff elastic next to skin in the middle of summer??? The material itself is exceedingly uncomfortable next to my skin, not only because the pleating makes the silk so stiff, but also because the lace is scratchy. Fit was equally as absurd. Although I did size up as suggested, I ended up with a pleated bubble butt and tapering downward to below my knees. Not quite the look I was hoping for...

Just bought and wore this skirt for the first time. I love that the cut is so sleek and simple ,not all bunchy and prairie like.It is comfortable and light and sophisticated.I normally wear size 2 but am glad I heeded advice & ordered a size up.I bought the celadon & plan on at least 1 or 2 more at the sale price.

I purchased this skirt last summer and have really enjoyed wearing it with the matching tank. I would recommend purchasing a size or two bigger than your usual size as the waistband is very snug. I LOVE that it's machine washable.

I treated myself to this skirt for my birthday and was lucky enough to catch it on sale. I added the matching top as shown on the picture and cut out leather belt. What a what a great outfit. Already received a lot of compliments.
